In September, Klaus Mühlhahn, Principal Investigator of the Research Project B13 “Adaptation and Legitimation as Factors of Effective Governance in China, 1949-1957”, published his textbook “The People's Republic of China” with De Gruyter Publishers, Berlin.

Clear and easy to understand, the textbook provides an overview of the history of China from 1949 to the present day. Furthermore, it presents research debates on domestic and foreign policy as well as on the developments of society, economy and culture. It also contains a detailed research bibliography.
