Klaus Mühlhahn, professor at the East Asian Seminar, Freie Universität Berlin, and director of project B13 at the SFB 700, held a lecture on Chinese working camps on August 13, 2012 at Stanford University.

The event took place as part of the Hoover Summer Archives Workshop on China and Russia. Klaus Mühlhahn specializes in the history and culture of late imperial and early modern China (18th to 20th century). For his book, Criminal Justice in China (Harvard, 2009), Mühlhahn received the American Historical Association’s Fairbank Prize.
