Research Associate

Markus Hochmüller has been a research associate at the Collaborative Research Center 700 between 2014 and 2017. He holds a PhD in Political Science (Freie Universität Berlin). Markus also holds a BA in German-Hispanic Studies (University of Regensburg and Universidad Complutense de Madrid) and a MA in Political Science (Freie Universität Berlin). In his PhD thesis with the title „The The Struggle over Security in Post-War Guatemala – Knowledge, Practices and Effects of a Transnational Field“ he assesses processes of transnational security governance reform. Since Fall 2017, he is a lecturer in international relations at Otto Suhr Institute of Political Science and an associated fellow of the Kolleg-Forschergruppe „The Transformative Power of Europe“.
