David Remmert is civil advisor in the UN Stabilisation Mission MINUSMA in Mali. Previously, he was a Research Fellow at the Collaborative Research Center SFB 700 ‘Governance in Areas of Limited Statehood’ and seconded to advise the Stabilization Unit at the German Federal Foreign Office in Berlin. David Remmert holds a PhD from Freie Universität Berlin for his thesis on the effects of international peace missions on corruption. He  studied Political Science and Middle East Studies in Berlin and Tel Aviv. His areas of expertise are fragile statehood, corruption, external rule of law and democracy promotion as well as peacekeeping and interventions.
