Since January 2010, Timo Behrens works as a project associate at the SFB 700. He is based at the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP). Timo contributes to the work of the project C3: “Transnational Security Governance: Organ-ised Crime and Governance Interventions in Mexico and Central America”. His work focuses on processes of appropriation and rejection of external governance interventions in the area of money laundering. Within this field, the 40+9 recommendations of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) are a key subject of his research. Timo holds a BA in “International Relations with International Political Economy” of the University of Hull, as well as a MSc in “Devel-opment Management” of the London School of Economics. Between 2007 and 2010 he has worked in various positions for Transparency International, the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK), the Social Science Research Center Berlin (WZB), and taught at the University of Potsdam.
