Young, modern, research-oriented: Established 23 years ago, the University of Potsdam has become firmly established in the scientific landscape of Berlin-Brandenburg. The university is the largest academy, located in the federal state of Brandenburg. Encompassing five different faculties, the university employs 263 teaching professors, 51 of which are simultaneously involved in renowned research institutions outside of the context of the university. Benefitting from this are the 20,000 students in the 130 different courses. The main focus of our research includes areas of study such as geoscience, integrated earth system analysis, functional ecology, evolutionary science, cognitive science, as well as research regarding plant genomics and systems biology. The University of Potsdam has three campuses and is considered one of the most beautifully situated academic institutions in Germany.
